The RS485 (or EIA485) communication standard, commonly used in industrial communication, is not directly recognized by computers. The EPC6400 USB-RS485 converter transforms the electrical signals of this standard into the USB standard supported by all computers. Systems with multiple RS-485 lines require multiple converters to connect to the computer. In this case, using separate USB-RS485 converter devices occupies the computer's USB ports and can cause confusion. When used with USB multiplier devices, issues such as insufficient power consumption may arise. The 4-Channel Isolated USB-RS485 Converter provides secure and stable communication simultaneously over 4 independent lines between computers or industrial control systems and RS485 devices. Each channel offers error-free data transfer even in noisy environments thanks to optical isolation and separate protection circuits. These RS485 lines are listed as separate COM ports on the computer.
